Parallel 49 – The Very First Canadian Beer in Indonesia

For the past five years, Indonesia has been a prominent destination in Southeast Asia for most of popular beer brands. A Vancouver based craft beer, Parallel 49, which showcase its eccentric taste and design characteristic, has been warmly welcomed by the Indonesian craft beer enthusiasts since 2021.

“Making great beer accessible to all” has been their mission. It attracted PT Pantja Artha Niaga to connect with Pacific Rim Distributors, the purveyors and distributors of fine Canadian craft beer, and Parallel 49 is one of the main brands.

Four beer variants: Trash Panda Hazy India Pale Ale (ABV 5.0%); Jerkface 9000 Northwest Wheat Ale (ABV 5.0%); Ruby Tears Northwest Red Ale (ABV 6.0%); and Filthy Dirty India Pale Ale (ABV 7.2%); are expected to have the magnetic effect for craft beer lovers in the country.

Based out of East Vancouver, the craft brewery opened in 2012. Today, Parallel 49 is a master of seasonal varieties and collaborations and serves up more than 70 unique brews each year in more than 100 cities across Canada – and now internationally.

Parallel 49 is imported and distributed exclusively by PT Pantja Artha Niaga. The beers are available in most of beer house across big cities, such as, Jakarta, Bali, Semarang, Medan, Surabaya and others. It can also be found in some Red&White Shops around Jakarta area and in e-commerce channel through www.minuman.com.
