Jakarta, December 24, 2021 – Reserva de la Familia is proud to present an unforgettable night of Tequila Pairing Dinner held at GIOI Menteng, Jakarta. Hosted by Kabir Suharan, this dinner is highlighting the two ultra-premium tequila created by Casa Cuervo; Jose Cuervo Reserva de la Familia Platino and Extra Añejo, an exceptionally rare spirit representing the very pinnacle of craftsmanship in tequila.
Each bottle of Reserva de la Familia is made from the hand-picked of 100% blue agave that mature for more than eight years with proprietary process known as Esencia de Agave – a method of making the best tequila which is equal to 70 hours of cooking. This process is highlighting the fragrances and flavors of the agave, stripping out all its bitter notes to create a gentle and full character tequila.
GIOI Menteng has carefully paired the four set courses of an exceptional dishes menu, from the seared scallops pairing to enhance the aromatic notes of Reserva de la Familia Platino, to a Wagyu Ribeye as a main course which its juiciness is intentionally chosen to match the gentle flavor of Reserva de la Familia Extra Ańejo that are served in a tequila sipping glass.
Adding to this experience, Jakob Oetama, the head mixologist of GIOI Menteng twists his cocktails making method to harmonize with this pairing. To start, he created an aperitif drink made from Jose Cuervo Reserva de la Familia Platino which shares a similar idea with a Dry Martini, then he created Espresso Martini cocktails to be paired with a specially made dark chocolate dessert that serves with a vanilla that infused with Jose Cuervo de La Familia Platino to conclude the pairing experinece.
Every year, the Cuervo family commissions a Mexican artist to design the new collectible box — a collector’s item that pays tribute to the Mexican heritage of Reserva de la Familia. The thin lines that cover the surface of this 2019 edition wooden box, are designed by the artist Jorge Pardo, who has created a series of drawings depicting jimadores skillfully working the fields of western Mexico with the coa and barreton. The designs, produced digitally from real photographs, are composed of dense superimposed stripes that make the whole difficult to take in at a glance. This theme and approach hearkens back to the great traditions of Mexican avant-garde painters of the first half of the 20th century who often depicted subjects of rural development and revolution.
For more than two centuries, Tequila Reserva de la Familia has been a worthy family secret kept for more than 10 generations. In 1995, to celebrate their 200-year anniversary, the family decided to share this special blend of tequila reserve with people who truly savour an exceptional taste.
