Michael Halstrick has been running Bodega Norton since 1991. He is the son of Gernot Langes-Swarovski, an Austrian businessman who bought Bodega Norton in 1989. His father was the first foreigner who invest on the wine industry in Argentina.

Michael’s home has been in Mendoza for the past 24 years, right by Norton winery, after his father Gernot Swarovski invested in the winery and Michael became CEO. Under Michael, a new era begins at the vineyard, with investment and expansion making Bodega Norton one of the first wineries to develop an export market.

He describes Argentina as a “fountain of opportunities” and has dedicated himself to ensuring Norton becomes a byword for excellence. In 2003 his hard work was acknowledged when he was named Businessman of the Year in the Vitiviniculture Industry.

Thousands of miles apart, Michael is still on a mission to introduce the best Argentinian Wines to the world. He flew in, for the first time, to Indonesia. Together with PT Pantja Artha Niaga team who represents Bodega Norton Wines in the country, Michael humbly presents himself to get acquainted with people from hospitality industry and a couple of media friends. The wine tasting event took place on January 16^th, 2023, at Hilton Bali Resort, Nusa Dua. It was full house and full of enjoyment!
